What We Believe
Jesus said: “Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20) Our Faith springs from a belief
in the living God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We further believe that the Holy Bible is God’s Word,
the only infallible rule of faith and practice given to provide guidance for our walk here on this earth. To fulfill our commission we teach and preach
the Word of God as found in His Holy Bible:
Why We Teach 1. So
that those who have not accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior can hear the Good News about Jesus. (Romans
1:16) 2. So that those who have accepted Christ
as their savior may grow in grace and knowledge. (2 Peter 3:18) What We Teach 1. That God is one and manifests Himself three ways: a. God
the Father, Maker of heaven and earth and creator of everything. (Genesis 1: 1-28)
b. God the Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and personal Savior. (John 3:16)
c. God the Holy Spirit, Counselor, Indwelling presence and giver of special
gifts. (John 14:16-17)
2. That Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins, was buried, and rose the third day and is now seated at the right
hand of God. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
3. That the Holy Bible is the Word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
4. That
the church is a group of people who profess that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior and work together to perpetuate
and advance His Kingdom. (Acts 2:38-42)
5. That salvation, the gift of eternal life, comes through acceptance of Jesus Christ. (John 6:40)
6. That God wants us to receive forgiveness of sins through the sacrifice
of His Son Jesus Christ on the cross, and He wants us to forgive one another as He forgives us. (Matthew
6:14-15)
7. That God wants us to love Him
and one another. (Luke 10:27)
8. That
the Lord’s ordinances for the church consist of Christian baptism and the Lords Supper. (Matthew
28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
9. That spiritual music is a form of worship that exalts God. (Colossians3:16;Ephesians5:19)
10. That we are committed to Christ and therefore are living for
God. (Galatians 2:20; Philippians 1:21)
11. That
our church must, “...obey God rather than men.” and is therefore not affiliated with any denomination.
(Acts 5:29; 1 Corinthians 1:12-13)
12. That
we have been commissioned by Christ to go forth and win souls to God in order to build His kingdom. (Matthew
28:19-20)
13. That we receive the Holy Spirit
when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior. (Acts 1:4-5)
14. That we are baptized with the Holy Spirit and receive special spiritual gifts. (Mark 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
15. That God wants us to be good stewards of the resources He provides. We are
to be committed and involved by: a.
Regularly attending His Church. (Acts 20:7; Hebrews 10:25)
b. Earnestly praying to God with praise and thanksgiving.
(Philippians 4:6; Psalm 9:1-2)
c.
Giving our tithes and offerings in a cheerful manner. (Malachi 3:8-10;
Matthew 23:23-24; 2 Corinthians 9:7)
d. Rearing our children to reverence God and love His Word. (Proverbs 22:6)
e. Obeying His commandments. (Matthew 28:20;
John 14:15)
f.
enjoying His Blessings. (Ephesians 1:3)
g. growing in the fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness,
Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self Control. (Galatians 5:22)
